Frequently asked questions

The answers to what delegates keep asking us — pre-tours, payments, getting here, and what to pack.

Registration & payment

How do I add a pre-tour to my registration?

Email [email protected] and we'll reply with a card payment link for the extra tour.

If I cancel the AGM Lunch (or another event), can I get a refund?

Yes. Up until 1 June 2027 you can cancel any single event or pre-tour and be refunded in full, minus the transaction cost — everything except the registration fee itself, which is non-refundable.

Getting from the airport to Selfoss

Can I travel straight from the airport to a pre-tour?

Two pre-tours have a departure built in near Keflavík Airport:

  • Pre-tour #1 — South Iceland, 2 days (starts 26 September): departs from Reykjavík — book your flight to Iceland no later than 25 September so you can make it. Exact pick-up time and location will be confirmed closer to the date.
  • Pre-tour #5 — Reykjanes Peninsula & the Blue Lagoon (30 September, 8:30): has two departure points, one of them Keflavík. Fly in on 29 September and stay one night near the airport in Keflavík if you're joining from there.
How do I get from the airport to Selfoss otherwise?

A few options, depending on budget and group size:

  • Rental car — many rental desks at the airport; Selfoss is about an hour's drive.
  • Public transport — take the Flybus from the airport to Reykjavík (Mjódd), then bus route 51 on to Selfoss.
Flybus from the airport: approx. €30 · Route 51 from Mjódd: approx. €22, departing roughly every 3 hours.
  • Taxi — an economy taxi for up to 3 people costs around €200.
  • Private shuttle — a good option for larger groups travelling together; email us and we can help arrange one.
Are hotels included in the pre-tours?

Only on the South Iceland & Jökulsárlón 2-day tour, which includes one hotel night on the road east. All other pre-tours (Golden Circle, Þórsmörk valley, South Coast, and Reykjanes Peninsula) start and end the same day at Hótel Selfoss, with no overnight stay included — see Stay for which extra nights to book if you're joining one of these.

Weather & what to pack

What's the weather like in Iceland?

As we say in Iceland: if you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes. Late September and early October are mild but changeable — typically around 4–11°C, with wind and a good chance of rain at some point during your stay. Check en.vedur.is closer to your travel dates for an up-to-date forecast.

How should I dress for the pre-tours?

Bring hiking shoes or good sturdy sneakers, a hat, gloves, and a raincoat — layers underneath are your friend. The buses are warm; it's the stops outside that call for it.
